Race Details: They were betting Karakorum On Black, the other half of the entry, bringing the odds down to 5/2. With the scratch of Buy A Personality, the role of closer fell into Mike Luzzi's lap with Knife and Fork, really cranked up, the main threat. Mandate, the 4/5 favorite, was forced to chase an honest pace set by Karakorum On Black and joined by Seeyouatsergios. Knife and Fork was uncharacteristically close in the early going while Hero relaxed off the pace. Mike Luzzi saw that Jorge Chavez had a ton of horse with Knife and Fork, and moved him into contention on the turn, taking him outside and assuming the lead after the quarter pole. Opening up in the stretch, Chernobyl's Hero had just enough to hold off the hard charging Knife and Fork, getting Karakorum Farm its 8th victory for the meeting.
