| This striking chestnut made his juvenile debut on August 29th at Saratoga in a state-bred maiden special weight going 5 1/2 furlongs and his fate was decided right at the start. After being bumped and then steadied between horses, Karakorum Bound dropped well behind the field. Turning into the stretch, he was almost 25 lengths behind! He then got it into gear and finished full of run at the finish. Even though he finished unplaced, he was only beaten nine lengths by the third place finisher. With this learning experience and a better start, we look for Bound to improve next time out. He should relish a distance of ground too. On September 15th, he worked 3-furlongs at Aqueduct in :39.02. | | |
