Since our inception in 1997, the Karakorum Racing Team has brought the excitement of horse racing to over 1,000 partners. You can now get involved in a thoroughbred limited partnership for as low as $499, and watch your horse compete at Belmont, Saratoga and Aqueduct.

Karakorum’s current racing stable comprises about 30 thoroughbreds currently racing and in training. We also have yearlings who will be running as 2 year-olds and are available now. Most of our horses are NY-breds who compete at the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and are managed by veteran trainers Jeff Odintz, Linda Rice and Jimmy Jerkens. Also, our horses race in the Middle Atlantic region with trainers Chris Englehart and Todd Beattie.

Since 2006, our horses have won 14% of the races they entered and have been in the money over 38% of the time while earning more than $1 mm in purses. Our current top runners include include state-bred stakes and open-company winner Karakorum Starlet, turf filly Karakorum Elektra, and solid geldings Karakorum Thunder and Chernobyl’s Hero. Our recent notable horses include multiple stakes-winners Karakorum Splendor and Strike the Brass; Karakorum Dixie, who won nine races in a row; Fly With Karakorum, a $250k earner; Karakorum Patriot, Karakorum Tuxedo, and Karakorum’s Lisa.

Karakorum Starlet was entered in the Personal Girl Stakes looking for her 4th straight stakes score versus state-bred fillies. After steadying at the start to trail the field, Starlet gained a position in midpack about 5 lengths from the lead. She rallied 3-wide to roll on past the pacesetter, opening up several lengths after turning for home. Starlet dug in gamely to hold off Starship Cruiser by ½ length. Though she’s won from on or near the lead, Starrie showed another dimension with this nearly effortless deep-closing rally. This was her fifth stakes victory, her ninth career win and increased her lifetime earnings to $480k.
